A Long-Planned Vision Becomes Real

Several weeks after the flood, Mayor Breslow met with Allen Biaggi of the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources at the Sparks Marina.
Looking over the newly filled basin, Mayor Breslow asked whether the City would have to pump all the water back out.
Biaggi explained that the environmental cleanup had removed the petroleum and that the basin walls were now fully saturated.
His answer was simple: “I guess you can keep your lake.”
With those words, the long-planned vision of Sparks Marina suddenly became very real.
